PROJECT UPDATE! FINALLY!

I dug up a soldering iron in my garage after my dad FINALLY told me we have one. However, it's only got one bit; i don't know where the rest are. It's like a flat head screwdriver. In addition, its stand is missing/nonexistant, which is just really hard to deal with and generally not safe, so i'm going to need to get my own iron at some point anyway.

MOVING ON!

This one required a little knowledge of soldering techniques. Had I not taken a couple hours to learn how to do it properly, it probably wouldn't have gone over well.

I know the picture's a bit blurry... anyway. See that little line of yellow down there? That's coming out of the Xbox cord. It doesn't do anything and is unnecessary for the project, so i just clipped it down to the end.

Each wire is paired by color. black->black, red->red, etc.

So, all I have to do now is put electrical tape around each individual connection, neaten up the project, test it out, and then I can file this under "done."

School's back in. I'll have no time for anything. ;_;

So of course, in the spirit of having no time, ANOTHER PROJECT!!!!! (really a subproject since it's for another one.)
Gonna make a tablet pen out of a wii remote
http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/
how sweet is that? Gonna use it to get the dress-up done, hopefully with the finger pointing option. :D!

I'll finish the peasant top this weekend. The controller and maybe dance mat will be done tonight-ish, since flanny's loaning me his soddering iron. FINALLY!!!!

New project: peasant top. The peasant top is a discard pattern from last season that corn pirate scored me.

Project reopened: Male Caftan. Bought a proper pattern this time. Let's hope i've got enough fabric.

WEEKLY UPDATE (No way will i have time to do this after christmas)

Various Papercrafts - No progress. Omanyte pieces are scattered under my bed. .
Snorlax Cosplay - No progress. Got moved up my sewing queue.
Making/purchasing a simple corset - After going to Corn Pirate's house, I saw the boning on her sewing table. :D
Katt's Amazing Dance Mat - Stalled until I can figure out the wiring of that damn mat!
Homemade xbox to usb adapter - Asked santa for iron, christmas is day after tomorrow.
Leviathan's Flash Dress Up Game for Maya and Jenna - Completely redid the model. She has removable undergarments (no anatomical details). Have a t-shirt, v-neck, jeans, and a summer-like dress with a scalloped hem.
Zombies in the School: A Java-based vis novel Yaoi game by Leviathan - No progress.
Male Kaftan - DROPPED. He's just too big!
Entering writing contests - Considering entering scholastic art and writing... Due Jan 5th. Might not.
Applying to Colleges - I GOT INTO AGNES SCOTT!!!! I know, i didn't make a specific post, but i keep going past my acceptance letter going, "wtf... when did that happen?" Oh i also got into SPSU, too. Was notified the same day as AS. XD Moomah's in town right now. She brought me Scottie Dog socks to congratulate me.

I've only been working on the dress up game really... I've had christmas stuff to do, ie the project i'm about to post.

ALSO: PICTURES!

So this is an early look at the Omanyte papercraft. Needs a lot of work still. I'm not even done cutting! D: anyway... Look at all the folds i'll have to do. This is a really tough first project. -__-;
Also, i did the words and paint in photobucket cuz... idk why. Anyway, moving right along.

Here's all the pieces when they ARE stored correctly. I really like this kind of expanding file cuz it's got two sizes, so small pieces aren't lost in the abyss, but there's a nice fit for the sheets that haven't been cut out yet. So nice and neat~.

And here we have a desktop screenshot. The mousepad is a heat-transfer project I designed and made myself in Graphic Arts. I built the image after a concert shot i found on the internet, and the words I just stuck wherever they fit. You can also see my lucky cat that's been working over time... I stretched that coin jar to pay for all of christmas this  year... Mary still needs a gift though. D: Also pictured: Assorted junk.

WEEKLY UPDATE (to make up from Sunday cuz I really really need to)

Various Papercrafts - No progress. Thinking vaguely about omanyte.
Snorlax Cosplay - No progress. Did look at some shirts with cravats, though
Making/purchasing a simple corset - Pattern cut out; Some notions purchased; labor paid for in full. All fabric purchased; Just need shoelace, ribbon, and corset busk. Labor has all purchased materials.
Katt's Amazing Dance Mat - Stalled until I can figure out the wiring of that damn mat.
Homemade xbox to usb adapter - Soddering iron has been asked for. Asked santa.
Leviathan's Flash Dress Up Game for Maya and Jenna - Drafts of line art of the front of like 2 outfits have been stored in a .psd file. Original line art has been put on the shelf for now since it's creepy symmetrical. Currenly using 3-D models posed as I want, and tracing them for line art.
Zombies in the School: A Java-based vis novel Yaoi game by Leviathan - May switch plans to C#. Stalled.
Male Kaftan - Pattern laid out, mostly drafted. STALLED till Charlie stops growing. He was only doing half a pull up when I sized him. He now does 7. His arms are now too big for the pattern.
Entering writing contests - Considering entering scholastic art and writing... Due Jan 5th.
Applying to Colleges - Recieved deferral notice from Tulane. No word from KSU or SPSU. Anxiously awaiting the notification from Agnes Scott that was sent in the mail yesterday. >_<

I just have my chinese final to finish up, then it's two straight weeks of projects. I predict it'll consist mostly of the corset, dress up game, and maybe papercraft.

MINI PROJECTS (this is a new section i guess... for little things that aren't really worth their own series of posts):

-TI-84 link to computer: Turns out it just needs a normal USB2.0 to mini usb cord. Who knew? Programming is easier on the actual calculator... TI connect + Notefolio allows text and doc files to be transferred to the calculator in a readable format. Gonna load it up with games when school starts again.
